Trail Ratings
We rarely rate a trail’s difficulty factor. We present the trail to you in a detailed video guide and let you decide for yourself if this is something you are comfortable with, or if this is a hike that you will want to work up to. There is no substitute for good judgment and knowing one’s limits.
Some trails are suitable for almost everyone at the start and continue to become more difficult as they continue. The Sky Pond trail in Rocky Mountain National Park or The Narrows in Zion National Park are prime examples of this. It is important to have an understanding of how much energy your body will consume under strenuous conditions and to be comfortable with having your boots and pack on all day.
